Events upcoming for July/September.
 

  • 1 July - Territory Day. On the 1st July 1978, The federal government granted the Northern Territory the right to Self-Government, with it's own Government. There are several events planned arount this day, but it is very popular with the only day of the year that residents can let of their own fireworks.
  • 6 July - Alice Springs Show Day. Blatherskite Park Showground, Fri 8am - 6pm, Sat 8am - 5pm.

  • 22 July - Beer Can Regatta. Held at Mindel Beach, a regatta like no other, with boats built entirely out of beer cans. This annual family event is rapidly becoming a spectacular for all who line Mindil Beach and cheer on the home-made boats of cans as they flounder and sink in the shallows.
  • 26-28 July - 56th Darwin Show Day. held at Darwin Showgrounds and Exhibition Centre. See http://www.darwinshow.com.au/ for more information.
  • 6 August - Darwin Cup Day. This is the highlight of the month long Darwin Cup Carnival. More information.
  • 9 - 26 August - Darwin Festival. Running for 18 nights, with over 70 productions, 112 events and performances and over 1,000 international, national and Territory artists and cultural groups, the Darwin Festival reflects the indigenous, Asian and Pacific cultures of the region.

  • 11-12 August - NT Tropical Garden Spectacular. ‘Have a dirty weekend’ in the garden at George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens. More information.
  • 18 August - Darwin Rotary Rodeo. Robbie Robbins Reserve, Berrimah, 6.30PM.
  • 25 August - Henley on Todd Regatta. Todd River, Alice Springs. A boat race with a difference - on the dry sands of the Todd River. The ASSA ABLOY Henley-On-Todd Regatta is a day of fun where teams and individuals race ‘boats’ in the dry bed of the Todd River in Alice Springs.
  • 8-10 September - Saltwater Fly Fishing Challenge. Bynoe Harbour, near Darwin, is the action spot for the Saltwater Fly Fishing Challenge held annually by the Darwin Flyrodders Club.
  • 15 September - Darwin City Muster. Gardens Amphitheatre. Featuring John Williamson, Troy Cassar-Daley, Beccy Cole and Sara Storer
  • 16 September - Rock The Foundation. Gardens Amphitheatre. Raising funds for indigenous Territorians with kidney disease
  • 22 September - Administrator's Pleasure Concert - Music Hall Mayhem, Darwin
  • 12 October - WHO LOOKS BEST IN THEIR LITTLE BLACK DRESS™ 2007, Discovery Nightclub - 89 Mitchel Street Darwin NT
